Logo Design and Branding for Teresa Klokkenga Photography

Logo Design for Small Businesses

When Teresa Klokkenga Photography approached us for a logo and branding redesign, we were thrilled at the opportunity to bring her vision to life. Teresa wanted a brand identity that was minimalist yet impactful and she was looking for a new logo that would set her apart and become instantly recognizable. It was important that the new logo and branding reflect both Teresa’s personality and the vibrancy of her photography style.

The Creative Brief

Our brief was clear: create a minimalist, abstract emblem using the letters of Teresa's business name in a way that would be identifiable even without color or text. The design needed to look cohesive and professional, while also being versatile enough for Teresa’s various branding needs. She wanted something modern and clean, with bold simplicity. Welcoming, but not overly feminine.

Our Approach

After exploring various directions, we landed on a hexagon-shaped emblem. This shape not only provides a unique and sturdy visual foundation but also adds a touch of modern sophistication. Inside the hexagon, we integrated a custom monogram with the initials "TK," creating a distinct yet minimalist mark that aligns with Teresa's refined aesthetic.

We also focused on a careful mix of fonts. By pairing a serif font for "Teresa Klokkenga" with a sans serif font for "Photography," we achieved a balance of classic and contemporary that reflects the quality and creativity of her work.

Colors and Patterns

While the primary logo is designed to stand alone without color, we carefully selected a palette of deep teals, dark blues, and soft neutrals to complement Teresa’s style and personal color analysis. To add depth to her branding, we also developed two repeating patterns featuring the emblem and sub-mark, set at 15% opacity for use as a subtle background on dark colors. This repeating pattern serves as a versatile brand element that Teresa can incorporate across her marketing materials, adding a layer of visual consistency and elegance.

The Results

The new logo and brand guidelines have given Teresa Klokkenga Photography a cohesive and memorable brand identity that works seamlessly across all platforms—from her website and business cards to social media and packaging.

At Marisol Marketing, we believe that a well-crafted logo design is a foundation for building trust and connection with clients, and we’re excited to see Teresa’s brand continue to grow with her new look!
